Utah law requires at least one session of divorce mediation in any contested divorce. (click here for Utah Court information on mandatory mediation)
If you and your spouse agree on custody, parent time, child support,
alimony and division of assets, you should use the court's self-help
divorce program. (click here for Utah Court's Online filing)
If you believe you and your spouse are close to agreement
and could work out your differences with a mediator, that is also a viable
option. (click here to find a Utah mediator and Utah Court Mediation Program information)
However, if you and your spouse are unable to communicate effectively and resolve your differences, both of you should consult attorneys to explore further options.
Terry Spencer does not offer free in-person consultations. However, an
attorney would be happy to discuss your individual situation during a
short telephone consultation. If you would like an in-person consultation to further discuss your particular situation, you may also call to arrange an appointment.
Please feel free to call at (801) 566-1884 for a short telephone consultation or to make arrangements for an in-person consultation.
